exactly what i wanted.
he printer was delivered on time and in an unmarked box which was perfect for the holidays. the printer itself is easy to install and works very well. the price was also remarkable.

portable printer
This portable printer is great. Small, well constructed. Be forewarned though- it says blue tooth / wireless capable, but in order to make this happen you have to buy another part that costs 90.00. If it will be in one place but you want small and don't mind a corded printer it is great.

Good value
Not the most expensive, not the cheapest - A good, solid value for its middle-of-the-road pricing. Easy to use, easy to set up. No complaints after one month of use.

Good enough
I needed a network color printer to supplement my laser on my linux home network. The 6940 fit the bill and the price was not too bad. Installation consisted of opening the box, removing some shipping tape, snapping the ink cartridges in, and plugging in an ethernet cable. That's it. I didn't even look at the instructions.

This printer makes pretty good photographic prints as well as standard paper color prints. It is pretty fast, the network feature works great, and the controls are simple. It's a slick product made by the premier inkjet printer manufacturer.

The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is that the 96/97 ink cartridges cost a ridiculous $39.95 (here on Amazon, more elsewhere). This printer uses the typical "lose money on the printer, make money on the ink" approach. Fortunately, there are refurbished cartridges out there that are half the price of the factory models. HP has announced inkjet printers that use much cheaper cartridges, but this isn't one of them.

Great
Took me awhile to get it hooked up and going but once it is working it really does a good job. The main problems I had with set-up were the network configuration and the initial printing set-up. The book doesn't explain things as well as it could in my opinion and the installation software seems to avoid clear answers as well. You can figure it out though with enough reading and playing around with the menus. I highly recommend this printer. The only thing I don't like is how the price of the printer has changed so much on amazon over the past few days. When I bought it the price was $149. Then the next day the price dropped to $129. Then the following day it jumped up to $219 and it has stayed at that price for awhile. Too bad they eliminated the popg guarantee.
